Ping in the thousands? Getting Kicked?
It sucks. We've all experienced it on games before.
On ChillZone, if you're encountering ping issues it's likely due to your ISP.
Especially with cheaper American ISPs, who tend to cheap out on overseas routing.
“But it doesn't affect other servers on my list?” - Other servers are likely hosted with a different datacenter in America, we use IP-Projects in Europe.
How do I fix it?
Firstly, I'd advise checking if you have anything downloading in the background, maybe a steam game. If so, pause or throttle the download.
If you continue to have issues, I'd recommend using a VPN as this is guaranteed to fix the issue.
“I don't want to pay for a VPN” - Understandable, however with free VPNs there are obvious privacy concerns. Only two I can recommend really are Proton VPN and Windscribe, however these have very limited free-tiers.
A decent VPN like Proton/Mullvad can be obtained for around $5 a month and will have plenty of other uses, aside from ChillZone ping :P.
These issues will usually subside naturally anyway, the odd few players who experience these issues should only experience them occasionally during their internets peak usage times. Simply waiting and trying again later should work.
